The name Nutbox was picked for multiple reasons:
- The domain www.nutbox.org happened to be available (www.netbox.org wasn’t).
- A nutbox is, according to the dictionary, a box of delicious nuts and sweets.
- The name has connotations of nut as in nuts and bolts.
